It is important the wind speed and direction, ground contour, plant height and fertiliser consistency are considered prior to determining the spreader settings and width of pass. Roesners on-going research is currently focused on the characterisation and performance testing of different fertiliser types; investigation into how variables such as wind speed and changes in fertiliser consistency affect spread patterns; and the correlation of spreader performance with crop yield for different soil types and climatic conditions.
